Strong claim to accuse one of the main characters of a game series of being in an incestuous relationship, when that is explicitly stated in the game, but hear me out. I swear this is not an entirely baseless claim to make. To preface this post, I don’t pretend to be an expert on medieval law ever since that court order expressly forbade me from doing so again. I do believe that I understand enough that that my claim may be somewhat valid. Secondly, I fully acknowledge that the Elder Scrolls universe may simply function differently than ours in such a way that may very easily invalidate my claim entirely. Thirdly, the developers almost certainly did not intend for Elisif to have engaged in incest, and sincerely hopes that the writers would have been at least competent enough to have mentioned this as being a part of her character if this was intended. But still, I just couldn’t shake my head of this feeling of something be very wrong with Elisif the Fair and High King Torygg’s relationship. Hear my case after the break.
